Includes correspondence and memoranda concerning contracts, construction and purchases, 1854-1889; bills and receipts for supplies, personnel, etc., many with the name of William C. Chapin, who served as mill agent; expense account of Joseph Walworth, 1863; and assignment of patent rights, March 27, 1876, from Samuel Barlow of Lawrence for an invention for improvement in the art of manufacturing ornamental textile fabrics. Also includes a spinning time book, 1879-1881, with the name, John Barker, in flyleaf; correspondence from English operatives stating conditions of their agreement to work as weavers, a color maker, a bleacher, etc., 1862-1866; and orders for English machinery, 1862.
